Publication in the abstract book of the Congress

A pdf volume containing the abstracts accepted for publication in the Congress will be available for download in this website at the time of the Congress. To achieve this goal it is essential that authors strictelly respect the template format for the abstracts. A brief peer review will be carried out and suggestions for improvement may be sent to the authors. Abstracts that fail to comply with the correct format may be returned to the authors for correction. All abstracts must be returned within the specifyed deadlines.

Publication of abstracts in Microscopy and Microanalysis



Extended abstracts will be published in a special number of SPMicros official journal 'Microscopy and Microanalysis' (M&M), a Cambridge International Journal with an impact factor of 3.002. These abstracts are optional and both abstracts submitted to MFS2013 and “Microscopy in Research” congresses can be sent. These abstracts are indexed in the ISI databases.

Extended abstracts can be submitted until February 20 (new extended date). The abstracts will be submitted to a peer review process aimed at improving the overal quality of the publications, and you will be informed of acceptance or any suggested changes soon after submission. The editor is expected to conduct its own independent review process.

Publication of full papers in Microscopy and Microanalysis

The editor will accept a limitted number of full papers related to the work presented in the Congress to be included in a special volume of the journal. The Congress Scientific Committee will select if necessary the best submitted papers, and these papers shall be submitted to a peer reviewing process by the editorial board of the Journal. Excess papers can be redirected to the regular number of the journal.
