"Applications of Electron Microscopy to Biomedicine"

Egas Moniz - Cooperativa de Ensino Superior CRL, Auditório 6, May 10, 2013

Electron microscopy is the most powerful method that allows the study of biological matter and clinical diagnoses at the nanoscale and subcellular spacial resolution. Thus it provides unique information that is crucial for the understanding of a wide set of problems in biomedicine, including pathology and microbiology. These areas of knowledge depend on electron microscopy for imaging of macromolecular detail.

"Egas Moniz Symposium on Electron Microscopy:

An Overview of Scientific Applications"

May 12, 2014. Main Auditorium - Egas Moniz - Cooperativa de ensino superior CRL

Electron microscopy is the most important and widely used method that provides a reliable way of imaging small details in specimens down to the molecular and even atomic levels. For more than 75 years this unique capability has proved essential to the understanding of the organization of biological and non-biological materials, and fostered a conceptual revolution in these disciplines following the development of suitable sample preparation methods.

"Microscopy in Research"

SPMicros - Portuguese Society for Microscopy in collaboration with Egas Moniz

December 9-10, 2013 Main Auditorium - Egas Moniz - Cooperativa de Ensino Superior CRL

The Portuguese Society for Microscopy, in collaboration with the Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Egas Moniz invites you to participate in the Congress “Microscopy in Research 2013” that will be held December 9 and 10 at the Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Egas Moniz, in Monte da Caparica. Information about the meeting will be posted at the web site

This meeting aims at providing Portuguese microscopists with an opportunity to present and discuss their work with interested colleagues. Additional activities such as pre and/or post- Congress courses are being considered. Invited speakers will present subjects with broad interest for the microscopy community. Stay tuned for upcoming information.
